ATTESTATION OF DOCUMENTS / AFFIDAVITS
For attestation related to Affidavits/any document, the applicant needs to appear in person for submitting his/her application. In case of joint affidavits, all the deponents need to present themselves before the consular officer of this Mission. If there is a provision for signature by witnesses in the Affidavits/Power of Attorney, the witnesses need to appear in person along with their ID cards/Passport.
Documents required: Completed Miscellaneous Services Form  + Affidavit/ Document required to be attested (in duplicate) + Passport (original + photocopy) + 2 colour Photos (51 mm x 51 mm).

ATTESTATION OF POWER OF ATTORNEY
For attestation related to Power of Attorney, the applicant shall appear in person for submitting his/her application. In case of Joint Power of Attorney, all the deponents shall present themselves before the consular officer of this Mission. If there is a provision for signature by witnesses in the Power of Attorney, the witnesses need to appear in person along with their ID cards/Passport.

If the applicant does not hold Indian Passport/Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) Card/PIO Card, the Power of Attorney needs to be first attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Republic of Estonia.

    • Duly filled in Life Certificate format
    • Valid visa/Residence permit
    • Passport (Original +Photocopy)
    • 3 Photographs

DEATH REGISTRATION:
Death of an Indian national should be registered with the Embassy of India by the next of kin/ relatives/ family members of the deceased by submitting the death certificate and last held Indian passport of the deceased.
Requirements:

    • Death Registration Form (if the deceased was Indian national) dully filled in and signed by the applicant.
    • Valid Indian passport in original and copies of first two and last two pages of the passport and the page (s) containing passport officer’s observation (s)(if any).
    • Death Certificate, clearly mentioning the cause of death, issued by the relevant local authority in original and its photocopy.
    • Burial Permit in original and photocopy
    • Police Report/Extract, in case of accident at work place
    • Post-Mortem Report, in case of accident (unnatural death)
    • Letter from the company/sponsor mentioning the details of the compensation and the insurance amount being provided to the family of the deceased by the employer

For taking body to India, additional, requirements are:

    • Embalming certificate

Valid Air-ticket for transportation of mortal remains

    • Information about next of Kin
    • Authorization letter (Power of Attorney) from the next of kin of the deceased regarding the person who will receive the mortal remains in India or information about the individual who shall escort the mortal remains to India.
    • Please note that
        • If the cause of death is mentioned as Cardio-respiratory arrest or natural death or pending or to be ascertained after post-mortem, or
        • If it is not possible to clearly mention that exact cause of death because of some unavoidable reasons,

Then in all such situations as mentioned in above two points, the health department of the concerned country may issue a certificate stating – “the person has not died because of infectious/communicable/notifiable disease”
STEPS FOR SUBMITTING THE APPLICATION AND MAKING THE PAYMENT:
Once all the required documents are ready, submit the application along with required documents at the Embassy of India, 5th Floor, Tornimae 5, Tallinn, Estonia. Application form can be submitted between 1000 hrs to 1200 hrs on working days at the Embassy’s counter.

All this information must show on the printed receipt. It cannot be added by hand.

NOTE: Applicants are required to attach self-attested photocopies of all the required documents with the application form. Original documents must be produced at the counter, which will be returned after verification.

All consular services must be paid beforehand and the receipt attached to the application, unless otherwise instructed. The Embassy will not print the payment receipt for the applicant. Cash payment is not possible.
